Leon Bakst

Leon Bakst died in 1924, just a few years after the accepted the start of the Art Deco period. The majority of his work pre-dates the Art Deco period and includes figures, landscape, and the costume and set design for which his later career was known. Featured here are two of his costume related works that have been used as ballet programs and include text with definite Art Deco influences.
